Tomato and Pepper Chicken



Today, I made this chicken dish. 
My hubby and I just love the mix of flavors. 
Sweet, sour, salty, spicy... perfect combination. 
They compliment each other really well.

You will need:
  • 500 grams Chicken, cut into serving portions
  • 1 can (250g) Tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Hot sauce or Chili ketchup
  • 1/3 cup Cornstarch
  • 2 medium Onions, chopped
  • 2 red/green Bell Peppers, cut into strips
  • ½ cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • Salt and Pepper to taste


* For Marinade: 1 Tablespoon Calamansi or Lemon juice
                Salt and Pepper



Preparation:

Step 1:  Marinate chicken for 30 minutes. Coat with cornstarch. 
         Fry until golden brown. Set aside.

Step 2:  In a different pan, sauté onions. Add chicken, tomato 
         sauce, hot sauce or chili ketchup, sugar, and water.  
         Season to taste. 

Step 3:  Simmer for 5 minutes or until chicken is done. Add bell 
         pepper. Simmer for another 3 minutes. Serve hot.
