Easy Beef Stroganoff

Beef stroganoff is actually a Russian dish with sautéed pieces of beef

served in a sauce with sour cream
It tastes best with pasta noodles, rice or even just plain bread.
This creamy dish is easy to make.
For those first-time cooks, you should try this out.

You will need:
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 500 grams beef tenderloin, cut into thin strips
  • 1 medium onion,  chopped
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 cup button mushroom, sliced
  • ¼ cup sour cream (or substitute with 1 cup evaporated milk and 1 tablespoon calamansi juice or lemon juice. Let stand until curdles)
  • Cooked pasta or cooked rice

Procedure:

Step 1: In a large pan, heat oil. Add beef. On high heat, cook for about 2 to 4 minutes. Take
beef out of the pan. Set aside.

Step 2: In the same pan, add onion. Sauté for a couple of minutes.

Step 3: Add cooked beef, cream of mushroom, and tomato paste. Stir well.

Step 4: Add mushrooms. Stirring occasionally, simmer for 30 minutes or until meat is cooked
              through and tender.

Step 5: Add sour cream. Stir. Mix well.

Step 6: Pour over cooked pasta, or serve with rice. Enjoy.
