The blend of onions, bell peppers, tomato sauce,
sugar and a little kick of hot sauce
makes this a delish dish.
Another addition to my Hubby's "Favorite Menu" list.

You will need:
- 2 pieces chicken breasts, sliced into serving portions
- 1 (250g) pouch tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili ketchup or hot sauce
- ½ cup cornstarch
- 1 can whole button mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- 2 medium white onions, chopped
- 2 pieces red or green bell peppers, cut into strips
- ½ cup water
- 1 ½ teaspoon sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
for the marinade:
- 1½ tablespoons lemon juice or calamansi juice
- salt and pepper
Preparation:
Step 1: Marinate chicken for 30 minutes. Coat with cornstarch. Fry until golden.
Step 2: Saute onions and mushrooms.
Step 3: Add chicken, tomato sauce, hot sauce, and water. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 4: Simmer until chicken is tender. Add bell peppers. Serve hot.
